A 36-Mile Drive to Honor Fallen Officers — TXFallenPD Is October 17 in Highland Village

The TXFallenPD Tribute Event runs Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Doubletree Ranch Park in Highland Village — a short drive from most of Flower Mound. The day includes a 5K run, a civilian bike Honor race, a police bike Honor race, and a kid ride with a cop. Vendors, live music, yard games, a kid zone, food, and drinks fill out the rest of it. Not just a race morning.

The event is held in honor of Sgt. Dennis Oliver.

It started in 2008 as a police bike race honoring Texas officers killed in the line of duty, then grew into a community fundraiser for the Texas Police Chiefs Association's Foundation, which gives direct financial support to the families of those officers.

Registration is $35 through September 30. On October 1 it goes to $40, and stays there through race day. Registration closes October 17 at 11:59 p.m. There is no day-of registration, so don't sit on it. The t-shirt included with registration may not be guaranteed for late sign-ups — check the registration page for the exact cutoff on that.

The 5K course is chip timed, running mostly on level, paved sidewalks and streets along the Inland Trail System. The bike race is also chip timed and covers roughly 8.5 miles on the same trail system. Both start and finish at Doubletree Ranch Park, 310 Highland Village Road.
