A Dog Grooming Salon Is Fitting Out Space at the Highlands This Month

If you drive your dog to Grapevine or Lewisville for a decent groom, that trip may get a lot shorter.

Salty Dawg Pet Salon + Bakery is mid-construction at the Highlands of Flower Mound, the shopping center at 6161 Long Prairie Road. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation has a build-out permit on file for the project, covering a renovation of an existing space for a dog salon.

Doors open later. The franchisee spoke with What Now Dallas but wasn't ready to announce specifics, saying only that the opening would likely come sometime in late 2026 or early 2027. The TDLR permit takes the construction to the finish line; the franchisee sets the date beyond that.

Salty Dawg runs full-service dog grooming in what it describes as a transparent, fear-free setting, with a pet bakery stocked with human-grade treats and curated supplies. There is already a location in Katy, and at least one other DFW outpost is operating.

FloMoBee will follow up once an open date is set.
