A Whole Room Is the Canvas at the CAC on Saturday, Nov. 7
Flower Mound's free Make Your Mark art event runs 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.—draw on the walls, no experience required.

You don't go to Make Your Mark to look at art. You go to put some on the walls.
The Town of Flower Mound is opening November Arts Month with this immersive event at the Community Activity Center, 1200 Gerault Rd. — four hours on Saturday, Nov. 7, running from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The idea is simple and a little wild: visitors of all ages help transform an entire room into a community-created work of art, drawing, doodling, writing, and painting on the surfaces around them.
There's no finished piece waiting when you arrive. Every person who adds a mark changes what the room is — a living document of creativity and connection built on the premise that art doesn't have to be done to be real. That's a different proposition than a gallery opening. The room on Saturday, Nov. 7 will look nothing like the room on Friday, Nov. 6.
The event is free and open to all, but organizers are asking participants to register at flowermound.gov. Registration is requested, though it's worth a quick call ahead if you're planning to walk in with kids rather than sign up in advance.
No supplies to bring. No skill level required. The CAC sits off Cross Timbers Road, easy to find if you've ever caught a Parks and Rec class there. Parking is in the lot off Gerault.
A good option for anyone who's done the pumpkin patch circuit and wants something genuinely interactive rather than just photogenic.
