Argyle ISD's New Middle School Zones Are Live — Here's Which Campus Your Student Attends This Year

School started yesterday. If you have a seventh or eighth grader in Argyle ISD and haven't confirmed their campus yet, do it now — the district's attendance zones officially split this fall, and some families are starting the year at a different building than last year.

The short version: the Argyle ISD school board approved new middle and high school attendance zones at its December 16 meeting, designed to move the district toward two high schools and multiple middle schools as enrollment grows. The new middle school zones took effect in 2026; the high school zones follow in 2027.

US 377 is the dividing line. Students living west of it attend the new FM 407 Middle School and feed into Argyle High School at Canyon Falls, while those living east of US 377 are zoned to Argyle Middle School on US 377 — the campus that will eventually become a second high school. One section of the Hilltop neighborhood sits west of US 377 but is zoned to the eastern campuses. Families in the Bonnie Brae Road and Vintage Boulevard area in the northern part of the district also fall under the eastern zone.

Why now? Enrollment. The district projects significant growth over the coming decade, with the steepest increases hitting the middle and high school levels. The new FM 407 Middle School was built on 50 acres purchased with 2022 bond funds on the north side of FM 407, and was projected to open in August 2026 serving seventh and eighth graders zoned to that campus.

The high school piece rolls in next. Starting in 2027, the US 377 campus will begin serving high school students alongside its middle school enrollment, adding grades each year until it functions as a dedicated high school by 2029. That full transition plays out during the 2026–27 school year, and 377 High School is on track to graduate its first class — the Class of 2030.
