Book Sale This Weekend, Summer Reading Prizes Gone After Tuesday

If your family did the Summer Reading Challenge, you have until Tuesday to actually collect what your kids earned.

The Flower Mound Public Library set August 11 as the final day to pick up prizes at 3030 Broadmoor Ln. Free books, coupons, raffle entries — whatever your child logged reading hours for sits waiting until then, and not a day longer. The reading window closed July 31, so this week is only about showing up.

While you're thinking about the library: the Friends of the Flower Mound Public Library are holding their quarterly book sale this weekend. The presale runs Friday, August 7, from 5–7 p.m. with a $5 admission fee. Saturday, August 8 opens to everyone from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, August 9 wraps things up from 1–4 p.m. — both weekend days are free at the door. Everything happens in the Community Program Room at the library.

Good timing if you're loading up a backpack before school starts. Gently used books across genres, priced to move fast. The Friends also take donations of gently used books, DVDs, and CDs on the way in — a clean way to clear shelf space at home.

October brings another sale. The summer reading prize pickup does not.

Head to 3030 Broadmoor Ln. before Tuesday, August 11 if your child has prizes waiting. Come Friday through Sunday for the sale.
