Commissioners Court Meets at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3 — Same Morning Flower Mound Voters Decide on the Street-Maintenance Tax
County business doesn't pause for Election Day — and one item on that agenda touches Flower Mound directly.

Tuesday, Nov. 3 is your last chance to vote on whether Flower Mound keeps the quarter-cent sales tax that pays for street repairs — and Denton County's governing body has its own business to conduct the same morning.
Denton County Commissioners Court convenes at 9 a.m. at the Administrative Courthouse at 1 Courthouse Drive in Denton. The session is open to the public and runs until noon.
The vote that affects Flower Mound most directly is Proposition A, a reauthorization of the Dedicated Street Maintenance Sales Tax at one-quarter of one percent. A yes vote preserves the tax and keeps the street maintenance division's dedicated funding intact. A no vote cuts off that dedicated funding stream. Under Texas law the tax expires on the fourth anniversary of its last reauthorization if voters don't act.
Elsewhere on Tuesday's ballot, residents inside Denton County Municipal Utility District No. 7 or Northlake Fresh Water Supply District No. 1 are voting on a combined $4.78 billion in principal bond authority for water, sewer, drainage and road infrastructure, along with separate refunding propositions. Those districts sit in the fast-growing northwest corner of the county. Whether those propositions appear on your ballot depends on your address — check your sample ballot at votedenton.gov.
One item on the Commissioners Court agenda connects directly to Flower Mound: the court is scheduled to consider Amendment No. 2 to its interlocal agreement with the town for construction of the Denton Creek Boulevard Bridge at Graham Creek. The agenda describes the amendment as carrying no change to existing county funding.
Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Early voting closed Friday, Oct. 30. Your polling place is precinct-specific; Denton County does not use countywide vote centers on Election Day. Find yours at votedenton.gov.
