Crown & Sole Footwear Files to Open Nov. 3 Near the Long Prairie Corridor

If a specialty shoe run has been pulling you toward Frisco or Legacy West, that trip may get shorter come November. Crown & Sole, a specialty footwear retailer, has filed with the state to begin operations on Nov. 3 at an address on Paisley Drive in Flower Mound.

That kind of filing is the routine step a new retail concept takes before opening its doors. No town council vote, no public hearing — just a business ready to open.

The timing fits a corridor that has been absorbing new tenants steadily. Long Prairie Plaza at 1400 Long Prairie Road, built in 2022, sold earlier this year as a fully leased asset, with tenants including Active Dental, Cold Stone Creamery, Donatos Pizza, and several service businesses. The intersection of Cross Timbers Road and Long Prairie Road is one of the busiest in Flower Mound. That is not a quiet side street.

Long Prairie and Cross Timbers has become where Flower Mound handles its everyday shopping and eating, and 2026 openings have reinforced exactly that. A specialty footwear shop draws shoppers who are specifically looking for it, which means trips that might otherwise leave town could stay local.

What to know: Crown & Sole filed to open Nov. 3. No town approval is needed beyond standard business licensing. Watch for signage on Paisley Drive around that date.
