Dolsot Korean Kitchen Is Open at Robertson's Creek

If you've been making the haul to Carrollton or Denton for a proper Korean meal, that excuse is gone.

Dolsot Korean Kitchen opened at Robertson's Creek Shopping Center in Flower Mound at the end of June. You'll find them at 5851 Long Prairie Rd., Suite 104, next to Salata. Walk-ins are welcome now. No grand opening to wait for.

The restaurant is named after the Korean word for a piece of cookware similar to a pot — and yes, that sizzling stone bowl bibimbap is on the menu. The menu runs from kimchi fries, fried dumplings, and tteokbokki to lunch boxes with bulgogi and spicy stir-fried pork, Korean pancakes, Korean barbecue, and a range of soups and rice dishes. A fuller spread than the fried-chicken-focused spots that tried this address before.

This suite has seen some turnover. Dolsot replaces KO Chicken, which itself replaced CM Chicken — both of which served Korean fried chicken and other Korean cuisines. Third time at this particular address. The difference is menu depth: Dolsot is building a full sit-down Korean kitchen rather than hanging everything on a single hook.

Dolsot is not the only new Korean option in town. Bonchon Korean Fried Chicken opened its doors in Flower Mound in March, located at the northwest corner of FM 1171 and River Walk Drive. Two Korean concepts opening in the same town within a few months of each other is worth noting. Flower Mound isn't a huge city. Whether it can sustain both — at different ends of the Korean dining spectrum — is the real question, and the next year or two will answer it.

Dolsot is closed on Mondays; all other days run from 11 a.m. with closing times ranging from 8:45 p.m. on weeknights to 9:15 p.m. on Fridays. Delivery is available through DoorDash and Uber Eats if you'd rather not leave the house.

The Robertson's Creek location isn't the highest-traffic corner in town — that'd be the FM 1171 and Cross Timbers corridor — but Robertson's Creek sits at the busy Long Prairie Road and Dixon Lane intersection, which pulls plenty of weeknight traffic. Good food and word-of-mouth will do the rest. One opening week doesn't predict longevity. But it's a better start than nothing.
