Dumpling Queen Opens at 1050 Flower Mound Road

If you've been driving to Carrollton or Plano every time a dumpling craving hit, you can stop now.

Dumpling Queen is open at 1050 Flower Mound Rd., Suite 110 — in the former Here Asian Cuisine space — with steamed dumplings, hand-pulled noodles, and family recipes rooted in Sichuan, China. Family-owned, not a franchise.

Chef Lulu Du, a China native who moved to the U.S. in 2021, is the restaurant's driving force. Her cooking background spans well-regarded kitchens in both countries, including North Dallas's Tian Tian. Rounding out the team are her husband John Watson, daughter Ruby Sun, restaurateur Yen "Louie" Jing, and chef Andy Feng, who previously owned multiple Lovers Egg Roll locations.

They picked Flower Mound on purpose. The area had few Chinese restaurants nearby, and the space drew interest from more than one national chain. The independent team got it anyway.

Their biggest physical change was turning the old sushi bar into an open dumpling production area. You can watch the dumplings get made from your seat.

The menu runs both directions. Chinese-American staples like orange chicken and Mongolian beef sit alongside handmade dumplings and buns — xiao long bao (soup dumplings) and authentic Chinese potstickers among them. Steamed xiao long bao are $13, four-color rainbow dumplings are $16, and pan-fried sheng jian bao run $10–$12. Weekends, they're already moving more than 150 orders a day.

Hours are Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4:30 to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Full menu at dumplingqueendfw.com.
