Every LISD, Argyle, and Northwest ISD School Now Has a 2026 Grade — Here's Where to Find It

Your child's school got a letter grade last Thursday. So did every other public school in Texas — all 9,105 of them.

The Texas Education Agency released the 2026 A-F Accountability Ratings on August 14, covering 1,202 districts and 9,105 campuses statewide. For families in Flower Mound and southern Denton County, that means every campus in Lewisville ISD, Argyle ISD, and Northwest ISD now has a public grade attached to it.

How our local districts landed

Individual campus grades within each district can vary, and a district grade doesn't mean every school inside it landed at the same mark. That's the number worth checking for your specific school.

What the grade actually measures

The A-F system rates schools on three areas: Student Achievement, School Progress, and Closing the Gaps. High schools also carry a post-secondary readiness component — how well the school prepares students for college, the workforce, or military service. A low campus rating doesn't automatically mean anything drastic happens overnight. Schools that receive multiple years of unacceptable ratings are required by TEA to create and implement comprehensive Turnaround Plans. One bad year triggers planning, not immediate closures.

How to find your school's grade

TXschools.gov is the official lookup tool. It includes a map feature that lets you search by address and compare schools across selected data points. Type in your campus name or home address and the rating comes up directly. You'll see the overall letter grade plus the underlying domain scores that explain how the school landed where it did.

The appeals window is open now

If a district believes its rating reflects a data or calculation error, it has a narrow window to challenge it. The Notification of Intent to Appeal link is available during the 30-calendar-day appeal window, and districts and charter schools file through the TEAL Accountability application. The exact deadline for 2026 isn't posted on district sites yet — check lisd.net, argyleisd.com, or nisdtx.org for the specific date as each district confirms it. Missing the window means the rating stands for the full year.

The big picture

Statewide, 85% of campuses that received an A-F rating achieved acceptable academic performance — a C or above. About 24% of both districts and campuses moved up in rating compared to 2025. The grades that matter most to your week are the ones for the schools your kids actually attend. Go look them up at TXschools.gov. It takes about 90 seconds.
