Field 5 at Chinn Chapel Is Back — Here's How to Confirm Your Practice Spot

Field 5 at the Chinn Chapel Soccer Complex has been a construction zone since August. That's changing.

The Town's 2025 bond program page confirmed construction is underway on the multi-use field conversion. It's now mid-October. If your kid's league has been routing around Field 5 all fall, confirm it's back in rotation before you assume anything.

Conversion crews replaced natural grass with synthetic turf and reconfigured the space to handle multiple sports. Once complete, the new field will accommodate soccer, football, and lacrosse. That multi-sport design is the whole point. Chinn Chapel runs back-to-back leagues, and natural grass at a complex that busy gets torn up mid-season — then needs recovery time you don't always have when schedules are stacked. Synthetic turf skips that problem entirely.

The project is part of the Town's 2025 bond program, approved by voters in May 2025. FloMoBee covered it when construction started in August. The scope and funding haven't changed.

Call Flower Mound Parks & Recreation at 972-874-6271 or check flowermound.gov to confirm whether Field 5 is back in your league's rotation for the rest of fall. Showing up with cleats and a carful of nine-year-olds to a field that's still fenced off is the kind of Tuesday night nobody wants.
