Field 5 at Chinn Chapel Is Getting a Synthetic Turf Conversion for Soccer, Football, and Lacrosse

If you've been driving past 100 Chinn Chapel Road all fall wondering when the fencing would come down, the project is the one to watch.

Field 5 has been offline since crews pulled up the natural grass in August. The conversion at Chinn Chapel Soccer Complex is a multi-use build: the finished field will handle soccer, football, and lacrosse. That combination matters at a complex this busy — natural grass at a high-traffic facility gets chewed up mid-season and needs recovery time you can't always afford when leagues are stacked. Synthetic turf doesn't need a break.

FloMoBee covered this project when construction started in August. The scope and funding held steady throughout. The work is part of the Town's 2025 bond program.

If your family has kids registered in fall leagues at Chinn Chapel, confirm Field 5 is back in the rotation before you assume it is. Call Flower Mound Parks & Recreation at 972-874-6271 or check flowermound.gov for your practice location. Showing up to a former construction site on a Tuesday night is a bad way to end a long day.
