Field 5 at Chinn Chapel Soccer Complex Is Now Under Construction for Synthetic Turf

If you've driven past 100 Chinn Chapel Road lately, you've already noticed something is happening. The sod is coming up. The turf is coming in.

Once complete, the new field will accommodate soccer, football, and lacrosse. That multi-sport flexibility is the point. Natural grass at a facility this busy wears out fast — it gets chewed up mid-season and needs time off to recover. Synthetic turf takes the pounding and keeps scheduling moving.

The money is already allocated and the contractor is already on site. Town Council signed off on the design agreement and the 2025 bond is covering the project cost. Voters approved the 2025 bond program in May of that year.

Field 5 is offline during construction. If your family has kids registered in fall leagues, call Flower Mound Parks & Recreation at 972-874-6271 or check flowermound.gov before assuming your usual practice field is open. Showing up to a fenced-off field on a Tuesday evening is a bad way to find out about a scheduling change.
