Fire Station 6 Gets a Permanent Home on Canyon Falls Drive — 21,586 Square Feet, Due by September 2027

If you live out west near Canyon Falls Drive, your neighborhood's fire coverage is about to get a real foundation. Station 6 has run out of a temporary location — always a placeholder, never a permanent solution. The state permit record puts completion at September 1, 2027.

The structure going up at 6801 Canyon Falls Dr., at the corner of Denton Creek Boulevard and Canyon Falls Drive, is a single-story, 21,586-square-foot building on 6.64 acres the town already owned. Registered construction cost: $15,883,737, drawn from public funds.

What's inside goes well beyond truck bays. The Planning & Zoning Commission approved a site plan that includes a co-located police office, a 48-seat community room, a small library kiosk with reading pods, a trailhead with dedicated parking, and preserved specimen trees on the site. A neighborhood facility, not just an equipment garage.

The west side has needed this for years. Canyon Falls is a master-planned community split across Flower Mound, Northlake, and Argyle, with builders still active on the residential side. Growth on the west end of town continues to build the case for permanent infrastructure at this location.

For Canyon Falls households and neighboring streets, the practical result is shorter dispatch-to-arrival times once the station opens. For every Flower Mound taxpayer, it's a $15.9 million capital commitment already under construction.
