Five Flower Mound Restaurants Earn the Town's Top Food Safety Honor

If you're picking a restaurant for date night — or just grabbing lunch without overthinking it — the town just handed you a shortcut.

Flower Mound's Environmental Services staff recently presented five local establishments with the 2025-2026 Food Service Awards of Excellence. To qualify, an operation's inspection scores had to land in the top one to two percent of all scores recorded. Short list. Real bar.

This year's winners, by category: Edohana Sushi (Full-Service Restaurant), Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Flower Mound (Hospital/Assisted Living), Pretty Burrito (Fast Casual), Primrose School of Wellington (Daycare), and Boil & Bake Bagels (Breakfast/Coffee).

Earning the full-service nod on a health inspection metric rather than a popularity vote reflects how consistently the kitchen at Edohana operates.

The town's Environmental Services Division created this recognition program for food establishments that perform at a high level, with food service quality and safety as the standard. The awards span a wide range of establishment types, so the comparison isn't apples-to-apples across the whole list — a hospital cafeteria and a sushi bar operate in different worlds entirely. What each winner shares is this: in its own category, it outscored nearly every other inspected operation in town.
