Highland Village's First Village Fest Is Tonight at Doubletree Ranch Park
Free admission, a disco band, a petting zoo, and hay rides — right across the lake, starting at 6.
If your Friday plans fell apart, tonight is a good reason to drive over to Highland Village.
The city's first annual Village Fest runs from 6 to 9 p.m. at Doubletree Ranch Park, 310 Highland Village Rd. Admission is free. Expect crafts, a golf simulator, a hoop truck, face painters, hay rides, a petting zoo, a hay maze, and a mini-midway to keep everyone busy. Food and drink vendors will be on-site.
Music starts an hour in. Le Freak takes the stage from 7 to 9 p.m. — they bill themselves as "The Greatest Disco Band in the World." The activities run the full three hours, so younger kids have plenty to do before the set even begins.
Overflow parking is available at Copperas Branch Park, with a shuttle running starting at 6:30 p.m. Doubletree Ranch fills up fast on event nights, so plan to arrive early or just use the shuttle.
No registration needed. Show up at 6.
