LISD Has Proposed Its 2026-27 Tax Rate. The Vote Is August 27.
Twelve days. That's your window before the board locks in the number that shows up on your fall property tax bill.

Your school property tax rate for 2026-27 is now on the table, which means your fall 2026 bill is starting to take shape. Lewisville ISD has formally proposed a rate for the coming school year, and trustees will vote on it at a Special Board Meeting on Wednesday, August 27, starting at 6:00 p.m. at the LISD Administrative Center.
That meeting is the end of the line. Once trustees adopt a rate, it's locked in for the year.
For comparison: last year's adopted rate was $1.1178 per $100 valuation for 2025-26. The specific proposed 2026-27 figure wasn't published in a place we could confirm before this went to print — visit lisd.net for the exact number and any taxpayer impact statement the district is required to post.
Worth separating from the budget conversation: the budget covers what LISD plans to spend. The tax rate is what determines what every homeowner in the district — Flower Mound, The Colony, Lewisville — actually pays to fund it. Different levers, same bill.
August 27 is also the public hearing. Texas law requires LISD to hold one on the budget and tax rate before adoption, and that hearing runs inside this same special meeting. If you want your comments on the official record, that's the room to be in. Check lisd.net before the meeting to confirm whether you need to sign up in advance — some districts require it, and the agenda details will be posted there ahead of time.
