LISD's Board Meets Tonight at 6 p.m. — Eight Days Before School Opens

If your kids are headed back to school on August 12, their district's board is meeting tonight — and you can be in the room.

The Lewisville ISD Board of Trustees holds a work session tonight, Tuesday, August 4, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the LISD Administrative Center. Staff days are already underway across the district, so whatever the board works through tonight lands in real time, not in some abstract planning future.

Work sessions give board members a chance to receive information and talk things through with staff. No binding decisions come out of tonight. Some topics may circle back for a formal vote at a later meeting — but this is where priorities surface and trade-offs get weighed. The board doing its homework out loud.

The first day of school for Lewisville ISD students is Wednesday, August 12, 2026. Eight days. Whatever leadership is focused on right now — schedules, staffing, logistics — becomes your family's reality almost immediately.

The board meets regularly in the Board Room of the LISD Administrative Center, 1565 W. Main St., Lewisville. All meetings are open to the public. At work sessions, public comments during Open Forum are limited to items on that specific meeting's agenda, so pull up the agenda on lisd.net before you go. That tells you whether there's a comment window and what it actually covers. Speakers are asked to hold remarks to three minutes.

The next regular board meeting — where formal votes happen — is scheduled for Monday, August 10, also from 6 to 9 p.m. Two days before students walk in. Tonight is the conversation that leads there.
