LISD Upgraded Its Student Portal. Here's What Families Are Finding Right Now.

Your password is fine. Your app is not.

If you logged into Skyward this week expecting things to look the way they did last spring, you got a surprise. Lewisville ISD has been running on Skyward Qmlativ SIS since August 3. The old Skyward SMS platform is gone.

LISD upgraded from Skyward SMS to Skyward Qmlativ SIS this summer. The district says the new platform brings improved data stability, better reporting tools, and a more user-friendly experience for families, students, and staff. Those benefits are real. But week one of any system this size comes with friction, and it helps to know what's normal before you start troubleshooting the wrong thing.

Start here before anything else.

Your login credentials carry over from the old system, but because student information is now stored on a different web application, you still need to add a new account in the mobile app. There's one step before that: if you already had the Skyward Mobile Access app installed from a prior school year, you need to uninstall it before downloading fresh. Skipping that uninstall is the source of most of the confusion going around right now.

Skyward Qmlativ SIS is the district's new centralized hub for student personal details, academic records, and attendance, with separate access areas for guardians and students. To reach the family portal, pull up the LISD website, open the Resources tab, and choose Families from the drop-down menu that appears.

Can't get in? Here's the fastest path out.

The login screen has a "Forgot your Login/Password?" link below the Sign In button — enter the email address tied to your Family Access account and it walks you through a reset. If you're not sure which email is on file, there's also a "Reset your Email" link listed under Parent/Student Announcements at the top of the login screen.

If the self-serve tools don't resolve it, go to your campus directly. Grades and attendance that haven't appeared yet are almost always a timing issue, not a missing record. New system, new sync schedule.

One practical note for this week: if you need to show proof of your child's attendance or current schedule for a doctor's appointment, a transfer, or anything outside school, call the front office. Don't rely on the portal until your data has fully populated.
