148 points, two gold relays, one historic first — the Marauders did something no LISD team had done before.

If you have a kid in the water anywhere in Lewisville ISD, the morning of February 21, 2026, just changed what's possible for them.

At the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center on the University of Texas campus in Austin, the Marcus High School Boys' Swim Team captured Lewisville ISD's first-ever UIL swim state championship, finishing with a combined team score of 148 points. Not a runner-up finish. Not a top-five. First place.

The win was built on relays. Hudson Roybal, Will Currey, Jan Warcholinski, and Landon Heuer took gold in the 200-yard medley relay. Heuer, Filip Podsiadlo, Currey, and Roybal then touched the wall first in the 200-yard freestyle relay. A fifth-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay sealed the team title. Individual hardware followed: Roybal earned silver in the 100-yard backstroke, and Currey took silver in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Marcus held off Strake Jesuit and Southlake Carroll in a tight final standings race. Those are serious programs. Winning that field, in Austin, in front of the whole state, is not a fluke.

Head coach Brandon Dion set the tone before the first heat. He told his swimmers the motto for the day was "We gotta be dogs." Senior Landon Heuer said afterward, "I'm happy enough to say that I think we executed."

Nearly three-quarters of the team's 148 points came from those three relay races. That is not a coincidence. That is a program that knows exactly where it's going to score and goes out and scores there.

For parents of younger LISD swimmers — kids at the Westside Aquatic Center, kids still in middle school weighing whether competitive swimming is worth the commitment — this title is a clear answer. It can happen here.
