No School Today or Monday — NISD's Q1 Is Done
Q1 is done. Students have today and Monday off; second quarter starts Tuesday, October 13.

If you're an NISD family sorting out this week's schedule, here's what you need: no school today, and no school Monday either.
The first quarter ended, and today, October 8, is a student holiday and teacher flex day. Monday, October 12 is a teacher planning day. Second quarter starts Tuesday, October 13.
That's four consecutive days without students in classrooms — Thursday, Friday, the weekend, Monday. If you didn't already arrange coverage for today and Monday, now's the time.
Q1 grades are locked. Whatever your child's transcript shows for those nine weeks, it shows. If there were missing assignments or a grade worth discussing, Tuesday morning is the right moment to start that conversation with a teacher — before new Q2 work builds up on top of it.

One number worth knowing on the budget side: the district's official tax rate notice addresses the M&O rate, which funds daily operations — salaries, utilities, student programs. Check nisdtx.org for the full rate details.
