Northwest ISD's CTE Academy Nights Span Multiple Campuses This Fall

Your eighth grader has a decision to make this fall — and Northwest ISD is giving families several evenings to make it with better information.

Each of the district's high schools is hosting its own CTE Academy Night. The dates spread across two weeks in October, with Steele Early College High School, Eaton, Byron Nelson, and Northwest High School each running a campus-specific event.

Here is why the timing matters. During the fall semester of eighth grade, Northwest ISD students can request enrollment in a CTE high school career academy. If a program is not offered at a student's zoned school, the student transfers to whichever campus runs it. That makes the campus visit more than a formality — it is the chance to walk the building, ask real questions, and decide before enrollment opens whether this is where your kid wants to spend four years.

Then on October 29, Northwest High School shifts gears for the Northwest ISD College & Career Fair, pulling in colleges and universities from across Texas so juniors and seniors can talk to admissions representatives in one room, one night.

Everything listed here is free. Students can also check in with their campus counselor for more on CTE options, specific program offerings at each campus, event times, and what the enrollment process looks like from their school.
