Northwest ISD's High School Boundary Input Window Has Closed — Board Votes Monday, Nov. 9
The proposed maps are public and searchable by address. After Nov. 9, where your child goes to high school in 2027-28 is locked in.

If you have a kid heading into high school anytime soon, here is what changes and when.
Northwest ISD wrapped up its three-meeting community feedback run on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at Eaton High School's lecture hall — the final chance for families to weigh in before trustees vote on 2027-28 attendance boundaries at their regular meeting on Monday, Nov. 9.
FloMoBee covered the rezoning process in early October, when the second of three input sessions was still ahead. Here is where things stand now.
The core driver has not changed. Byron Nelson, Eaton, and Northwest — the district's three comprehensive high schools — are all bumping up against, or already past, capacity. Davis High School, the district's fourth comprehensive campus, is the release valve. Because Davis is a new campus, an attendance boundary has to be created to populate it.
Eaton has the most immediate problem. Its zone is expected to keep growing as new housing developments come online, and the opening of Davis will provide the most enrollment relief there. Northwest High is under its own pressure as well, with population growth along the SH 114 corridor pushing enrollment toward capacity.
If your family gets rezoned, the grandfathering rules matter. Because Northwest ISD has determined capacity will exist at existing high schools, the district will recommend that the board allow current juniors and sophomores to remain at their current campus — meaning rising seniors, juniors, and sophomores will all have that option. Students rezoned to Davis have a narrower path: they can stay at their current school only if they are enrolled in an academy there, are on a staff transfer, or have a rising junior sibling remaining at that school. Either way, students who choose to remain at their current campus will not be eligible for district-provided transportation.
There is a tight deadline after the vote. Northwest ISD will send families of affected high school students a form on Tuesday, Nov. 10, to signify their intent to remain at their current campus — that form must be completed by Dec. 1.
The practical takeaway: an interactive map of the proposed boundaries is available at nisdtx.org/departments/facilities/attendance-boundaries/2027-2028-boundaries. To see where your address falls under the 2027-28 proposal, click the drop-down arrow from the 2026-27 boundaries, then type in your address. The board votes Monday, Nov. 9. After that, the lines are set, and the clock on that Dec. 1 form starts the following morning.
