Northwest ISD Students Named to National Math Stars Program
These third- and fourth-graders from six NISD elementary schools just landed a decade of math mentorship that follows them through high school graduation.

If your child attends Cox, Beck, Roanoke, Lance Thompson, Daniel, or Haslet Elementary, your school just sent a student into a decade-long national math program — and the bar to get in was high.
Northwest ISD announced that eleven of its elementary students earned spots in the 2026 National Math Stars cohort, joining just over 600 students who will receive ten years of support running from elementary school through high school graduation.
National Math Stars is a nonprofit that targets mathematically advanced students, beginning its programs in second and third grade. Over the next decade, each selected student receives financial support for advanced math courses, ongoing mentorship, STEM enrichment materials and experiences, and invitations to math competitions and summer camps.
For the families of these eleven kids, it is straightforward good news. Their teachers identified something real, a national program confirmed it, and the next ten years carry concrete support to match. That recognition belongs equally to the students, the families, and the teachers who helped get them there.
