One Saturday, Two Events: Flower Mound's Oct. 17 Fall Lineup Runs Morning to Night

Flower Mound families can fit two very different fall activities into one Saturday when Chalk the Park and Pumpkin Plunge return on Oct. 17.

The day begins outdoors at Twin Coves Park, where Chalk the Park runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 5001 Wichita Trail.

The community chalk art contest invites participants to transform pavement into colorful creations during the morning event. The first 75 participants will receive a free chalk set, so families planning to take part may want to arrive early.

Once the chalk is put away, the fall fun moves indoors for the evening.

Pumpkin Plunge runs from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Community Activity Center indoor pool, 1200 Gerault Road. The seasonal swimming event puts a different spin on pumpkin picking, with pumpkins floating in the pool for participants to choose.

Pre-registration is required for Pumpkin Plunge, so families interested in attending should register ahead of the event rather than planning to simply show up that evening.

With one event in the morning and another in the evening, Oct. 17 offers families a chance to spend part of the day creating something colorful outdoors and finish it with a distinctly fall-themed trip to the pool.

Chalk the Park and Pumpkin Plunge are separate Town of Flower Mound special events. Pumpkin Plunge should not be confused with the Town’s Costume Swap or Doggie Dive events.
