Pledge to Water Less — But the Campaign Closes This Month

Here's a rare situation: you're already doing the thing they're asking you to do, and you can get entered into a drawing for prizes just for saying so.

The Upper Trinity Regional Water District's Give A Drip campaign has been running since June, and it closes at the end of September — meaning this week is genuinely your last shot to enter. Pledge at WaterLessYall.com, commit to watering your yard no more than two days a week and not between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., and you're in. Free swag included, one per household.

Prizes are up for grabs, with winners drawn in October. The district mails prizes to the address on file, so fill out the form completely.

Flower Mound residents are already under a mandatory two-day-per-week watering schedule. The Town updated its Long-Term Water Conservation Plan earlier this year. Taking this pledge doesn't change any of that. It just officially logs your commitment and drops you into the drawing.

Why does the district care enough to send you prizes? Outdoor irrigation accounts for a significant share of residential water consumption during summer. Upper Trinity serves cities and communities across Denton and Collin Counties. The mandatory two-day schedule exists to protect lake levels and keep treatment infrastructure from being overwhelmed during peak demand.
