Post Oak Park Closes September 1 for a Nine-Month Renovation

New playground equipment, a restroom, improved trails and drainage work are planned before a projected late May 2027 completion.

If Post Oak Park is part of your weekly routine, whether for an after-school playground visit or a trail loop before dinner, your calendar is about to change.

The park will close Tuesday, Sept. 1, as crews prepare to install new playground equipment and safety surfacing, build a restroom facility, add interpretive signage, improve drainage and enhance the trails. The project is expected to take about nine months, with completion projected for late May 2027.

This is more than routine playground maintenance. The project adds a restroom and addresses several park amenities at once. The additions and upgrades are based on recommendations in Flower Mound’s 2017 Parks and Recreation Master Plan.

The work is being funded through 4B Sales Tax revenue. Flower Mound’s 4B sales tax is one-quarter of one percent and can be used for eligible park facilities, improvements and related expenses.

Post Oak Park is located at 4751 Flower Mound Road. The entire park will be inaccessible during construction.

Construction updates will be available through the Town’s project map. Late May 2027 remains the projected completion date and may change as work progresses.
