Post Oak Park Is Closed for a Full Renovation
New playground gear, a restroom, better drainage, and improved trails — here's what's coming and where to take the kids in the meantime.

TITLE: Post Oak Park Is Closed for a Full Renovation BODY: If Post Oak Park off Flower Mound Road is part of your family's regular rotation, plan around a longer absence than a typical repair job. Crews are on site to add new playground equipment and safety surfacing, a restroom facility, interpretive signage, improved drainage, and enhanced trails.
This isn't a patch job. Every one of those items is a net addition — the park is getting things it didn't have before, not just replacements for worn-out gear. The restroom alone has been a long time coming for a community park of this size.
The amenities being added or upgraded are funded through 4B Sales Tax revenue, meaning no new cost to residents beyond what the town already collects.
While construction runs, Flower Mound's other parks stay open; a full list with amenities is at flowermound.gov. Rheudasil Park is a nearby community park with a playground and pond if you want something close in size and feel to Post Oak. Anglers who fish the pond there can find similar stocked ponds at Parker Square Park and Spring Lake Park — addresses and details for all locations are at flowermound.gov.
The town is tracking construction progress on its project map at flowermound.gov. Check there for any timeline updates as the work moves along.
