PuzzlePalooza at the Flower Mound Library Next Saturday: Swap at Noon, Race at 2 P.M.

If you've got a stack of finished puzzles taking up shelf space, next Saturday is your excuse to finally do something about it.

The Flower Mound Public Library is hosting PuzzlePalooza on Saturday, Oct. 10, starting at noon with a puzzle swap and jigsaw puzzle challenge.

Here's how the swap works. Bring your gently used puzzles to the library through 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10. Drop one off and you'll receive an early admission ticket to the swap, good for entry from 12 to 12:30 p.m. That half-hour head start is how you get first pick of whatever everyone else brought in. No puzzle to swap? You can still walk in at 12:30 p.m. and grab a free, new-to-you puzzle while supplies last.

Then the competitive part. At 2 p.m., the action shifts to a head-to-head jigsaw puzzle race. The library provides all competition puzzles, so you don't need to bring anything except your team.

The whole event is free. You can register your team ahead of time through the library's event page, which is worth doing if you're serious about the 2 p.m. race.

One practical note: if you want that early-admission ticket, get your puzzle to the library before the 11:45 a.m. Saturday deadline — don't count on dropping it off and swapping in the same trip at noon.
