Rita's Italian Ice Is Coming to 1201 Flower Mound Road
The spot across from Fiori that's been dark since Salad and Go closed last year finally has a new tenant — and it sells frozen custard.

That drive-thru pad across from Fiori has sat quiet since last fall. It's getting a tenant.
Rita's Italian Ice is headed to 1201 Flower Mound Road, confirmed on the Town of Flower Mound's civic alerts page. The space has been empty since Salad and Go closed there in September 2025, part of a company-wide move that shut 41 locations across Texas and Oklahoma.
Rita's started in Philadelphia in the summer of 1984. Now it operates more than 600 locations across 30-plus states, making it the largest Italian ice concept in the world. The menu rotates through more than 95 flavors of Italian ice, frozen custard, and gelati. Flower Mound joins a DFW expansion that already landed a location in Carrollton, with Farmers Branch also on the list for later in 2026.
Every Rita's in this rollout runs drive-thru only. No walk-up window. That format slots right into what was already built at 1201 Flower Mound Road.

No opening date has been set. Rita's will announce grand opening details closer to launch.
