The Library's New Play Patio Is Open — and It Didn't Cost the Town a Dime

If you've got a kid who needs to burn off energy between story time and the checkout line, the Flower Mound Public Library just got a lot more useful.

Flower Mound Public Library has opened its new outdoor children's play patio, funded entirely by the Friends of the Flower Mound Public Library. No bond measure, no budget amendment. A local nonprofit wrote the check.

The Friends committed their donation to capital projects, including the children's play patio and an expanded creation lab. The patio is the piece that just came online.

Swing by the library during regular hours. No separate admission, no registration — it folds into the same free access you already have. The library's children's area and programming calendar have long been a go-to, with storytimes and play sessions drawing steady crowds. The patio adds an outdoor option to that mix, which any parent here knows can matter a lot on a restless afternoon.

For questions about the space or what's coming next, the library's official channels and the Friends group are the right places to check.
