Three Artists Win the 2026 Traffic Signal Box Art Project

If you stop at the right red light in Flower Mound, you might find yourself staring at actual art. Three residents just got selected to put their work on signal boxes across town — and those pieces will be up for at least two years.

Lauren Cooper, Michelle Pavlik, and Yvonne Gambino are the winners of the 2026 Traffic Signal Box Art Project. Each design gets converted to a digitally printed vinyl wrap and installed on a traffic signal box for a minimum of two years. Each winning artist also receives a $100 prize.

Town cultural-arts staff reviewed applications before landing on the three winners. Staff will work with a wrapping vendor to confirm locations and contracts before any installations move forward. Specific box locations have not been announced yet.

The program has been running in annual cycles for years. Each year, the town selects three artist proposals to cover three designated boxes. Any Denton County artist can apply regardless of age, though Flower Mound residents get priority consideration.

When the wrapping vendor confirms the 2026 locations, they will be listed at flowermound.gov.
