Tonight at 11:59 p.m. Is Your Last Chance to Register for Tomorrow's TXFallenPD Tribute Event

Tomorrow is the day. The TXFallenPD Tribute Event runs all day Saturday, October 17, at Doubletree Ranch Park in Highland Village — about a ten-minute drive from most of Flower Mound — and if you haven't registered yet, tonight at 11:59 p.m. is the hard stop. No day-of sign-up. Miss the deadline and you're watching from the sidewalk.

FloMoBee covered this back in September when registration was still wide open. Here's where things stand now.

The 5K run/walk kicks off at 8 a.m. The Kid Ride with a Cop and the civilian and first-responder bike races both go off at 5:30 p.m. In between: vendors, live music, yard games, a kid zone, food, and drinks. The evening concert runs from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. as part of the event itself.

The 5K course is USATF certified and chip timed, mostly on level, paved sidewalks and streets along the Inland Trail System, starting and finishing at Doubletree Ranch Park. The Citizens Honor Ride covers the Inland Trail System and uses chip timing to record finishes. First responders ride free.

The event honors fallen Texas officers killed in the line of duty. It started in 2008 as a police bike race, then grew into a community fundraiser for the Texas Police Chiefs Association's Foundation, which provides money directly to those officers' families.

If you missed packet pickup on October 15, pickup opens at 7 a.m. the day of the event at Doubletree Ranch Park, 310 Highland Village Road, Highland Village.

Register at runsignup.com (search TXFallenPD Memorial Event) or through highlandvillage.org before tonight's 11:59 p.m. deadline.
