Trotter Park Bids Are In — 12 Pickleball Courts, $9.75M Budget, Cross Timbers Road

If you've been shoulder-to-shoulder at Glenwick Park waiting for a pickleball court, the project that changes that just cleared a real milestone.

Flower Mound received contractor bids on Oct. 8 for construction of Trotter Park, the 13-acre sports complex planned for 4551 Cross Timbers Road. The town's construction projects page, updated Oct. 16, lists the budget at $9,750,000 and puts design at 90% complete.

The approved master plan calls for 12 dedicated pickleball courts, two tennis courts, a basketball court, a playground, a plaza gathering area, a restroom building, native landscaping, and a looped trail mixing concrete and soft surface. One focused site for court sports instead of a court or two scattered across different neighborhoods.

Three funding sources cover the cost: the Park Development Fund, Dedicated Sales Tax revenue, and a Texas Parks and Wildlife Department grant.

Bids in hand moves the project from design into contractor selection. Town council will review the submissions and vote to award a construction contract; check upcoming council agendas at flowermound.gov for that item.

FloMoBee reported in September that the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing for the project carries a completion target of January 7, 2028. The design firm is MHS Planning & Design.
