Valley Creek College Is Spending $7 Million to Renovate Its New Morriss Road Campus

The work started last November and the clock runs to November 2, 2026 — here's what's going in and what it means for that stretch of Morriss Road.

If you drive Morriss Road near Dixon Lane regularly, that construction activity at 6101 Morriss Road now has a number behind it: $7 million, according to state records.

Valley Creek College — the higher-education arm of Valley Creek Church — filed a renovation project with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Work started November 3, 2025. The target completion date is November 2, 2026, and the estimated cost is $7,000,000.

What's being done, exactly? The state filing describes an interior remodel of an existing religious worship and educational facility, with no change in building type or occupancy classification. No new footprint. No demolition of the structure itself.

The building will be familiar to longtime Flower Mound residents. Valley Creek Church acquired it from Trietsch UMC — a 40,000-square-foot building on 4 acres, less than a mile from the church's Long Prairie Road campus. The college is converting it into its first dedicated campus.

Once renovation wraps, the facility is planned to include a chapel, classrooms, learning labs, a café, a library, an athletic complex, and communal spaces. That's a real upgrade from where things stand now: Valley Creek College classes are currently held at the Flower Mound Campus of Valley Creek Church at 5800 Long Prairie Road.

The project is privately funded. The TDLR record lists the funds as provided by the tenant, and the project's current status is Project Registered.

For anyone driving that stretch of Morriss Road: because this is interior work on a building that's already standing, the disruption is lighter than a ground-up construction project would be. Contractor traffic near Dixon Lane is real, though, and will continue through fall. November 2, 2026 is the date on file.
