Vivo Pizzeria Is Targeting Mid-July to Open at Lakeside

If you've been driving to Keller for DeVivo's Eatery, you might not have to soon.

A small North Texas pizzeria and bakery serving Italian-style food is expanding into southern Denton County. DeVivo's Eatery in Keller plans to open a new concept in Lakeside — Vivo Pizzeria — focused on wood-fired pizzas, chicken wings, and fresh sandwiches. The Lakeside location is targeting a mid-July opening.

Vivo Pizzeria will be located in the former Rush Bowls space at 2400 Lakeside Parkway, Suite 160. That's inside the mixed-use district that's been filling in steadily over the past year — right where the Thirty-One Eleven Sunset residential tower brought a new wave of neighbors who now live within walking distance.

DeVivo's opened in 2013 as a locally owned and operated family business, and built a real following in Keller before anyone floated a second location. That matters. "What started as a small dream years ago has grown into something we could have never imagined," the restaurant said in a social media post, adding: "We truly never planned on opening another spot, but when the right opportunity came along, we knew we had to take the leap."

That's not the language of a franchise play. It's the language of an owner who found a neighborhood they believed in.

The Flower Mound location will focus on pickup and delivery of wood-fired pizzas, chicken wings, and fresh sandwiches — a tight, intentional menu. No 40-item laminated thing. That kind of focus either earns a loyal repeat customer base or it doesn't, and Lakeside residents are about to find out which.

The timing is worth noting. Flower Mound has added dining options across several corridors in 2026, but most of the independents have clustered near The Pines on Flower Mound Road or along Long Prairie. Lakeside has leaned more toward fast-casual and bowl concepts. A wood-fired pizzeria, even a pickup-and-delivery-first one, is a different energy for that neighborhood.

Watch whether Vivo opens on its mid-July target. Small independent restaurants in new markets sometimes slip a few weeks — permits, equipment, final inspections. If it opens on time, that's a quiet signal that the city's small-business pipeline is working. If it slides into August, that's worth asking about too.
