The concept, in plain terms

If your mental image of a nail salon is pastel walls and a rack of OPI colors, Hammer & Nails is deliberately something else. The chain — founded in West Hollywood in 2013 — built its whole identity around the idea that a lot of men want their hands and feet looked after and would rather do it somewhere that feels designed for them. Leather chairs. Individual televisions. Noise-canceling headphones. Hot-towel treatments. A beverage while you wait, or while you're in the chair.

That experience is coming to the Robertson's Creek shopping center on Long Prairie Road, near Five Below. Construction is underway on the buildout.

What they actually do there

This is more than a barbershop with a nail station bolted on. The Flower Mound location is expected to have two distinct areas — one for cuts and shaves, one for hand and foot care — along with skin-care treatments, facial waxing, beard and mustache grooming, and massage elements woven into the services. Customers can book individual services or sign up for a monthly membership package.

The nail services focus on natural grooming: no polish, no enhancements. While the space was designed with men in mind, the company is clear that everyone is welcome.

How it got here

Founder Michael Elliot opened the first Hammer & Nails location in 2013 after a frustrating trip to a conventional nail salon left him feeling out of place. The original shop — hand and foot care only, no barbering — launched in West Hollywood. The brand appeared on Shark Tank but left without a deal. In 2018, Hammer & Nails expanded its menu to include haircuts, shaves, beard care, and facial treatments, which is now the full-service model it franchises.

The Flower Mound shop is one of several Texas locations the chain has opened or has in progress.

What to know before you go

The buildout is at Robertson’s Creek, the shopping center that includes Five Below, Hobby Lobby and several other popular retail tenants. Opening is expected later in 2026. Membership information is at hammerandnailsgrooming.com, where the Flower Mound location is already listed as coming soon; appointments will book there as well once the shop opens.
