Fire Station 6 at Canyon Falls Drive Is Under Construction

If you drive Canyon Falls Drive out toward Denton Creek Boulevard, you will see it: an active construction site where Flower Mound's permanent Fire Station 6 is going up. Target completion is September 1, 2027.

The project is registered with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation as TABS2026010600, at 6801 Canyon Falls Drive in Denton County. One story. 21,586 square feet. Inside: fire operations, a co-located police office, a community meeting room with up to 48 seats, a small library kiosk with reading pods, and a trailhead with dedicated parking. Four specimen trees on the site are being preserved.

The TDLR filing puts the construction cost at $15,883,737. The town's overall budget for the project is $20 million, on 6.64 acres the town already owns.

This has been a long time coming. Fire Station 6 has been operating out of a temporary facility while the town looked for land suited to a permanent location in the Canyon Falls area. They found it.

Flower Mound's west side has been filling in fast. Shorter response times follow from positioning the station where the growth is, and the Canyon Falls community gains the station that will serve the area for the long haul.

Expect construction equipment and activity at that corner through summer 2027.
